The Senate’s latest tax proposal could eliminate the state’s back to school sales tax holiday by next year.
The tax free holiday has been extremely popular for both consumers and businesses with consumers saving money and businesses getting more traffic because of the savings.
Although the holiday is popular, the NC Department of Revenue says,it costs the state an estimate of $13.6 million last last year.
