President Barack Obama, the first lady and their daughters will spend the next three days on vacation at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville.
Officials say they will not make any public appearances until Sunday, when the president is scheduled to speak in West Virginia at a memorial for the workers who died in a coal mine explosion earlier this month.
