The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is putting a stop to lead foot drivers. Operaion Slow Down-Interstate Initiative is in effect through April 4th, focusing on motorists speeding on the interstates. Over the past 4 years, 331 motorists have been killed, 13,916 injured in 50,206 collisions with the leading cause being speed. In the first 2 days troopers have issued more than 200 tickets along I-85 in Vance County.
