Authorities will resume a ground search this morning for Shaniya Nicole Davis whose mother is set to appear in court today on charges of human trafficking and child abuse involving prostitution.
Shaniya’s mother Antoinette Nicole Davis reported that the 5 year old went missing from their home last Tuesday. Police have arrested Davis and charged Mario Andrette McNeill with first-degree kidnapping. Despite the arrest Shaniya is still missing.
Acting on a tip, about 100 law enforcement agents and volunteers searched woods, fields and ravines near the Lee-Harnett county line yesterday. A state Highway Patrol helicopter searched from the air.
The operation was suspended when it was too dark to see anything.
Shaniya is 3 feet tall and weighs 40 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt with pink underwear. She is thin and has a scar on her foot.
Anyone with information on Shaniya’s whereabouts is asked to call the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-433-1856 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477.
