Nissan is recalling approximately 480,000 vehicles across the U.S. and Canada due to concerns over possible engine failures linked to a defect in its VC-Turbo engines, which are exclusive to Nissan and Infiniti models.

The affected vehicles include:

  • 2019–2020 Nissan Altima
  • 2019–2022 Infiniti QX50
  • 2021–2024 Nissan Rogue
  • 2022 Infiniti QX55

According to a notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the issue stems from potentially defective engine bearings that may have been improperly manufactured. While the failure usually develops over time, owners might notice symptoms such as unusual engine noises or warning lights on the dashboard before a breakdown occurs.

Of the total vehicles recalled, around 443,899 are located in the U.S., with an additional 37,837 in Canada.
