This month, we are proud to honor Pastor Colette Parker, the youth pastor of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Wendell! Julian B. and Brianna M. of Wendell nominated Pastor Parker for this honor. Here’s what they had to say:
We (Julian Boddie and Brianna McCrea) are grateful to nominate our Youth Pastor, Colette Parker, for the Pastor of the Month. Pastor Parker is a kind and patient person who loves Jesus, studying the Word, and the youth. She supports every kid in every way she can. Pastor Parker shows up to sporting events, school events, and will even come have lunch with you at school. She will take time out of her day and talk with you. Pastor Parker has mentored both of us to prepare for the JFW Oratorical Contest. She guided us through writing our speeches and how to effectively deliver them. Her hard work and encouragement helped us to win first and second place positions. On Youth Sunday’s when Pastor Parker preaches, she uses props and real-life situations to deliver her message. The way she preaches helps us to understand the Word of God and how to apply it in our everyday life, Her Bible Study lessons are amazing and we learn so much from them. Pastor Parker works hard within the community and loves helping others. She encourages us to help in our church ministries such as the Food Pantry and our Pride for Parents Store and works alongside us. When we don’t do our best at something or we don’t feel like doing something, Pastor Parker will still love on us with her whole heart. She includes all the youth in church events. Pastor Parker has done a lot for our youth such as taking us to a music competition, the UniverSoul Circus, and to youth activities at other churches. In conclusion, we pray we have expressed what a wonderful woman of God Pastor Parker is and how blessed we are at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church to have her as our Youth Pastor.
