Looks like removing the confederate flag from stores and state items is the new popular thing to do!
Walmart, Sears, eBay And Amazon Stop Selling Confederate Flags
Keeping with the trend, North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory wants to eliminate the presence of the Confederate flag on specialty plates in our state.
“The time is right to change this policy due to the recent Supreme Court ruling and the tragedy in Charleston,” according to Josh Ellis, the governor’s spokesperson.
The state DMV said it has issued 2,064 Confederate flag plates to members of the North Carolina chapter of Sons of Confederate Veteran, according to WRAL.
The governor does not need legislative approval to allow this change as the DMV is in charge of approving specialty plate designs.
