More than 100 superintendents from across North Carolina made their way to the General Assembly Yestreday. Their visit was all part of “Education Week.” Superintendents got a chance to talk to lawmakers face to face about education policies for schools throughout the Tarheel state.

Congratulations to Raleigh’s new police chief. Cassandra Deck-Brown was chosen about three weeks ago and was sworn in today at 11:30am at Fletcher Hall inside Duke Energy Center for Performing Arts. Brown is the first African American woman to serve as Raleigh’s police chief.

Investigators have charged 21-year-old Lyndsey Smith, of Durham, with accessory after the fact in the case and harboring a fugitive. Smith’s bond was set at $1.5 million.
