| Event Description: | For more than two decades, Make A Difference Day has been celebrated annually on the fourth Saturday in October and connects people with opportunities to serve, increases the strength of communities and promotes civic engagement. The nationwide undertaking includes revitalizing community centers, rehabilitating parks, improving low-income homes, creating community art projects, mentoring, serving meals, developing community gardens and much more. Here in Durham and Orange counties we will celebrate Make A Difference Day by hosting a donation drive in order to ReStock the ReStore just in time for the holiday season.
Through the service of volunteers, we will be able to accept and process all of the donations we intend to receive on this special day. Because of these donations, we are able to raise funds through sales for Habitat for Humanity of Durham County and Habitat for Humanity of Orange County, NC who both work to provide safe and affordable housing.
