Overnight storms dropped large amounts of rain in several central North Carolina counties. The down pour closed many roads to close as well as knocked out power to many homes and businesses and caused some schools to delay the start of the day.

Because of several flooded roads Harnett County and Moore County schools chose to delay the start of classes by two hours. Hoke County Schools closed for the day. The Cumberland County state of emergency went into effect Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m
