Mislabeled Pills Found In Prince’s Home new information states that pills containing fentanyl were inside a bottle labeled hydrocodone.
This leads to two theories: either the manufacturer mislabeled the pills in which there would have been a mass recall or the drugs were obtained illegally and placed into the mislabeled bottle.
Investigators are giving Prince the benefit of doubt that he was unaware that the pills were in the bottle and thought he was taking hydrocodone which lead to his accidental overdose on fentanyl.
Prince died on April 21 from an accidental overdose of fentanyl, according to the Medical Examiner.
