The Community Task Force spoke out yesterday to the City Council about how to improve relations between the community and the Raleigh police force.
The Police Accountability and Community Task Force is more than a year old, but the deadly police shooting of Akiel Denkins in southeast Raleigh on Feb. 29, gave the group renewed purpose.
The group delivered a petition with a list of demands to reform Raleigh PD. Although they applaud the city’s move to equip every officer with a body camera, they want the city to speed up the process, and the want public access to the videos.
