A man accused of shooting a Good Samaritan who stopped to help with his stuck car on an icy North Carolina road is due in court today. Police said Marvin Lee was arrested Friday after allegedly killing Jefferson Heavner outside of Charlotte.
The local sheriff reported that Lee’s car slid off a road and some people, including Heavner, stopped to help. The group believed that there was something wrong with the man so they said they were going to call the police according to Catawba County Sheriff Coy Reid.
The suspect then jumped out of his car with a pistol and allegedly opened fire. Lee has been charged with murder and is scheduled to appear in court today.
