In 2015, we said goodbye to many beloved celebrities, from actors and musicians to reality stars and athletes. Here, we pay tribute to some of the famous faces who passed away.

Bobbi Kristina Brown, July 26, AGE 22

Bobbi Kristina Brown was the daughter of music superstars Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston. In a situation eerily similar to her mother’s 2012 death, Krissy was found unconscious in a bathtub in late January 2015. The former “Being Bobby Brown” star was kept in a medically induced coma and died in hospice care five months later.

B.B. KING, MAY 14, AGE 89

Nicknamed the King of Blues, B.B. King is considered one of most influential blues musicians of all time. Over the course of his career, he won 15 Grammy Awards, including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1987, and was given the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2006. He died at his home in Las Vegas from a myriad of ailments, including Alzheimer’s disease and type 2 diabetes.

STUART SCOTT, JAN. 4, AGE 49

Exuberant “SportsCenter” host Stuart Scott began his ESPN career in 1993 and infiltrated pop culture with a number of catchphrases including “Boo-yah!” and “As cool as the other side of the pillow.” Stuart died after a long battle with cancer on Jan. 4, 2015, and is survived by two daughters.

MOSES MALONE, SEPT. 13, AGE 60

For nearly 20 years, Moses Malone played center for some of the NBA’s best basketball teams, notably the Atlanta Hawks, Houston Rockets and Philadelphia 76ers. He was named MVP three times and was a 12-time All-Star. Moses died on Sept. 13, 2015, from hypertensive and atherosclerotic heart disease. He’s survived by three children.

PERCY SLEDGE, APRIL 14, AGE 74

Percy Sledge rose to fame with the soulful debut single “When a Man Loves a Woman” in 1966. His later hits included “Take Time to Know Her” and “Warm and Tender Love.” Percy died of liver cancer on April 14, 2015, and is survived by his second wife and 12 children.

BEN POWERS, APRIL 6, AGE 64

Ben Powers played Thelma’s husband, pro football player Keith Anderson, on the ’70s sitcom “Good Times.” He also appeared as Moochie in “Mickey Spillane’s Mike Hammer” and guest-starred on shows like “Gimme a Break” and “Laverne & Shirley.” He died on April 6, 2015, but his cause of death has not been revealed.

ANTHONY RILEY, JUNE 5, AGE 28

Anthony Riley was a member of Team Pharrell during Season 8 of NBC’s “The Voice.” However, despite being a fan favorite, he left the show to deal with substance abuse issues. He committed suicide on June 5, 2015.

SAM SARPONG, OCT. 26, AGE 40

Sam Sarpong is best-known as the co-host of MTV’s “Yo Mamma.” He also modeled and was once the face of Tommy Hilfiger. Sam committed suicide by jumping off a bridge on Oct. 26, 2015.

JOHNNY KEMP, APRIL 16, AGE 55

Johnny Kemp rose to fame in the ’80s with his hit song “Just Got Paid.” The track earned him a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Song in 1989. Johnny, who passed away on April 16, 2015, is survived by his wife and their two sons.

JULIAN BOND (JAN. 14, 1940 – AUG. 15, 2015)

Bond, who died at age 75, was an important figure of the civil rights movement. One of the original leaders of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee at Morehouse College, Bond later ran the NAACP and was a co-founder of the Southern Poverty Law Center.
