Instead of celebrating their child’s first Christmas family members were focused on saving their child’s life. The 1 year old girl was shot and critically injured on Christmas day around 5:45 p.m. after someone fired shots from a vehicle as it was leaving the apartment complex. Chapel Hill Police said Saturday that they were called to the 700 block of Trinity Court at about 5:45 p.m. Christmas Day and that the 1 year old girl was critically injured Friday night in a shooting at a Chapel Hill apartment complex.
The 1 year old girl injured in the shooting was taken to UNC Hospital. She underwent surgery overnight and so far no arrests have been made, and no other information about the shooting has been released.
