On Tuesday it was revealed to the public that Rosie O’Donnell’s 17-year-old daughter Chelsea had been missing for a week. However police found her hours later, safe in a New Jersey home.
At the time, Chelsea O’Donnell had left the family’s home a week earlier with a therapy dog. According to her mother’s spokeswoman, Cindi Berger Chelsea suffers from mental illness which is why Rosie’s concern intensified the longer she had been missing.
Rosie O’Donnell lives in South Nyack, New York and police there had been searching for her daughter since Sunday. Lt. Keith Germain, spokesman for Barnegat police said authorities in Barnegat, New Jersey, were informed on Tuesday Chelsea was possibly there.
Germain said they went to the residence and although the person answering the door initially did not want to reveal Chelsea’s presence she then appeared and left with police without incident. What relationship O’Donnell had with the people who lived in the house is unknown.
Rosie O’Donnell does have a vacation home in the New Jersey shore area.
