Thirty-year-old Lamar Davenport, the boyfriend of Morgan Freeman’s granddaughter Edena Hines has been arrested in her fatal stabbing on a New York City street. On Monday Lamar Davenport was arrested on a murder charge, a day after the 33-year-old actress was found in front of her Upper Manhattan apartment building with stab wounds to her chest.
According to police Davenport was in a relationship with Hines. Morgan Freeman released a statement about the tragedy saying, “The world will never know her artistry and talent, and how much she had to offer.”
Hines was the granddaughter of Freeman’s first wife so actually she was Freeman’s step-granddaughter. However those around Freeman say the award-winning actor thought of her as his granddaughter.
It isn’t immediately clear whether Davenport had a lawyer or not.
