Just hours after Amazon hinted towards some of its major deals that will be available on its “Prime Day,” Walmart used CNNMoney to preview some of its own discounts. The 24-hour sale-a-thon is set to begin at 12:01am PT on Wednesday.

Amazon’s “Prime Day” on Wednesday is to commemorate the company’s 20th anniversary. The sales event is being promoted as having “more deals than Black Friday.”

Some of the Amazon discounts that were revealed include a 40-inch TV for $115, an Amazon Fire HD 7 tablet for $60 off (regularly retails for $139), and an iRobot Roomba Pet Vacuum Cleaning Robot for under $300.  The Amazon sales are only available to its Prime members.

However Amazon is currently offering membership, which is normally $99 a year, for free as a 30-day trial.  Shoppers will will receive free and unlimited two-day shipping for the entire day.

Prime Day will also give members an opportunity to win $1,000 to $25,000 in Amazon gift cards or tickets as well as a trip to the season two premiere of the Amazon original show Transparent.  Walmart immediately jumped in after Amazon announced its plans, with a sales day of its own on the same day.

Some of Walmart’s “atomic specials” include an Apple iPad Mini 2 for $265, a Black Decker Drill and a Toshiba 15.6″ Satellite laptop for $377.  Walmart even went as far as to criticize Amazon for only opening the sale to Amazon Prime members.

Amazon rebuddle, questioned the logic of retailers who lower prices for online versus in-store shoppers.
