After a shooting late Wednesday involving two Wake Forest police officers, an unidentified man was taken to WakeMed.  According to a police department spokesman, the shooting occurred in the parking lot between The Factory, located on South Main Street, and a ballpark after the officers followed the man around 9:30 p.m.

Nothing has been said about what caused the shooting in the first place or about the man’s current condition.  However, emergency officials did perform CPR on the suspect before he was taken to WakeMed.  Investigators were seen setting up evidence markers around a black Honda, which authorities said was the suspect’s vehicle, and a Wake Forest police vehicle.  Whether or not the man’s injuries were caused by the police is uncertain.

As for the police officers involved, they were not harmed.  Witnesses who were in the area at the time of the incident said they heard about five to six shots. Innocent bystander Daniel Bray said

“It was pretty intense. The cops were moving fast while we were talking we heard the gunshots. We heard probably five. Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop. And then a lot of sirens.”

Story is still developing.
