  Every Monday WRAL TV 5 news anchor Owens gives a quick recap of the weekends big news stories and a heads up on what’s coming up in the evening news.

Owens a 20 year television veteran started his career in 1993, as a reporter trainee at WUSA-TV in Washington, D.C. and began working at WRAL TV-5 in 2002.

Today Owens recapped the following:

  • The death of a 19 year old St. an Augustine’s College freshman football players over the weekend, officials don’t suspect foul play.
  • The body of a 17 year old teenager was found in the Shallotte River along the east coast in Brunswick County.
  • Chuck Stone the founder of the National Assertion of Black Journalist passed away over the weekend in an assisted living facility in Chapel Hill North Carolina.

Tonight Gerald will talk about the listening facing potential sever weather.
