Bishop McClendon posted an online video message explaining that the show has become something that he did not originally sign up for.
McClendon says, “First of all, when I was approached with it, they said it wasn’t a reality show, they said it was a docu-series. Again, I was not involved in the genesis of the project. I’ve had a number of things come to me like this, a number of people come to me with certain opportunities and I’ve turned them down.” He goes on to say that he knew the producers of the show and their relationship with God and he thought that would steer the development of the show. However, he feels the network input and production level has over ran the Christian production level and the message is getting lost in that translation.
