Unemployment rates increased in 81 of the state’s counties in June, including in all 14 metro areas.
The State Department of Commerce released the figures Tuesday. In Wake County, the unemployment rate is 7.4 percent, up from 7.0 in May. Cumberland and Harnett Counties both rose to 10.5 percent. Scotland County has the highest unemployment at 16.2 percent. Carrituck County had the lowest at 5.8 percent.
