New Highway In Durham Could Displace Some Historic Residents

A new highway known as the “East End Connector,” is finally in plans to be made, but it could place dozens of Durham citizens out of their homes.
The project is likely to cost nearly $2 million adn will connect NC highway 147 and U.S. Highway 70. This will ease heavy truck traffic from downtown Durham streeets.
However the new project will also take away places where African Americans have historically lived for years.
