A new study from Canadian researchers say people who were hit or spanked as children have a higher chance of mental ailments such as: mood swings, anxiety disorders and problems with alcohol and drug abuse.
Research says those who were spanked as children were 2-7% more likey to encounter mental issues as adults. This was based on a survey of more than 600 U.S. adults.
Researchers stressed that the study could not prove that spanking actually caused these disorders but that there was a link.
