The movement launched in the Capitol City in October. Sunday marked 100 days since occupiers began spreading their message.

“Things have gotten to a bad enough point where enough people where enough people realize we have to change this,” said Bo Chagnon, another demonstrator who has been with the moment from its inception.

To celebrate the milestone, the group held a rally, marched downtown and made signs displaying 100 reasons why they occupy.

“People are starting to really pay attention to the social and economic injustice that we have in this country,” said occupier Derek Chronmiller.

Since October, the group’s found a permanent base camp in downtown Raleigh. Chilly weather and run-ins with the law have not stopped the movement.

“They thought we were going to go away when the winter got cold and that we weren’t going to be able to last and here are are still,” expressed Chronmiller. “And all this means is that we’re just going to get bigger when the weather gets warmer.”

Together, occupiers plan to continue making their voices heard.

“You never can tell where a popular movement is going to go, but this one looks like its going in the right place,” reflected Chagnon.
