Zacardi Cortez was born September 17, 1985 in Houston, Texas. And since the day he was born, he has always had a passion for singing. As a young boy Zacardi grew up singing in the church choir and was a very active member. He came from a family with musical talents and manage to fit right in. His love and his family love for music was so distinguished that the family merge together to form the group The Cortez Singers. Singing with his family allowed Zacardi to gain exposure to Houston’s local Gospel Community.

                Zacardi’s talents elevated him to a new level, he exercised his singing talents with James Fortune and Fiya; and much of his success began in 2008. Zacardi official debut to the public was on James Fortune and F.I.Y.A.’s sophomore project on Black Smoke Music World Wide (formerly World Wide), “The Transformation”, which was released January 22, 2008. Zacardi featured on the track “The Blood”.  This song ultimately bless the people of God and connect the new genre of gospel music to the old.

                Joining a triple duo threat, James Fortune, Shawn Mclemore, and Zacardi Cortez; Zacardi impresses his fans with his gift of musical ministry on “I Believe”.
