Teachers were warned to hide from students if they chose to pray.
The Tennessee school district and Sumner County school officials sent guidelines to staff members in advance about participating in a public prayer event. Christian teenagers around the nation organized an event to gather around their campus flag poles to pray for their schools. School officials told staff that they must hide from students if they chose to participate.
According to Fox News, a group of middle school football coaches bowed their heads during the prayer were reprimanded for doing so.
Reports say that teachers have not been banned from praying, but it must be done out of sight and earshot of any student.
