The Nevels Sisters are awsomely anointed sisters who have been singing together for years. They have a new project and will be featured at Unity in the Community on Saturday. Listen as Melissa talks with April Nevel of the Nevel Sisters.
THE NEVEL SISTERS
The Nevels Sisters are an anointed group of young women who have committed their lives to
spreading The Gospel of Jesus Christ through song. The group is made up of four biological
sisters: Debra, Veneice, Gail, and April.
These young ladies began their ministry in 1977 under the direction of their Father and Pastor,
Eld, Emmett Nevels. They often accompanied him to ministry engagements throughout the
United States. It was during this period that The Nevels Sisters became recognized for their
awesome, God-given singing ability.
Often being compared to the group who served as their inspiration, The Dynamic Clark Sisters,
the Nevels Sisters became recording artists in their own right. In 1984, they recorded their first
album ” Hold To His Hand”. This album reached the number 15 spot on the Gospel charts. Their
second album entitled “Seek The Lord” was released in 1989 and also received critical acclaim
throughout the Gospel Music Industry.
After the release of their second album, the sisters took a break from recording, but continued to
travel and minister through song, sharing the stage with renown gospel artists such as: Karen
Clark-Sheard, Vickie Winans, Rance Allen, Trinity 5:7, Keith “Wonderboy” Johnson, Kurt Carr,
Mary Mary, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Dorothy Norwood, Twinkie Clark, The Williams Brothers and
many others.
Throughout their career, The Nevels Sisters have received several awards and special recognition.
They were the national winners for the Gospel Talent Search Competition. They performed at The
Gospel Superfest 2001. They have made appearances on the Bobby Jones Gospel Show, The
National Women’s Convention of the Church of God In Christ, The AIMS Convention of the
Church of God in Christ and Kurt Carr’s Gold Celebration.
Now, The Nevels Sisters are back on the scene with their highly anticipated appropriately titled
CD “It’s About Time”. They are more anointed, more powerful and more awesome than ever! Get
ready to be renewed, refreshed, rejuvenated and RESTORED! — It’s About Time!
