MIAMI — Hurricane Irene is now a category three storm. Forecasters say Irene has regained strength after losing some Tuesday. It is expected to hit North Carolina this weekend and make its way up the coast.
It hit the Turks and Caicos Tuesday. That was after it carved a path of destruction through the Dominican Republic.
