Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward and Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones were both arrested over the weekend in separate incidents.

Ward, winner of the last “Dancing With the Stars,” was taken into custody early Saturday outside Atlanta on a drunken driving charge, sheriff’s officials said.

The former Super Bowl MVP was booked into the DeKalb County jail at 3:41 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence. A jail official said he was released on $1,300 bond, according to the AP.

Atlanta lawyer Andrew Ree issued a statement saying the 35-year-old Ward cooperated fully with police and truthfully answered their questions.

“From our preliminary investigation we can tell you that we are confident that the facts will show that Hines was NOT impaired by alcohol while driving,” Ree wrote. “However, Hines is deeply saddened by this incident and apologizes to his fans and the Steelers organization for this distraction.”

In Cincinnati, Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones was arrested Sunday in Cincinnati on misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct while intoxicated and resisting arrest, adding to the list of off-the-field troubles that have marred his career.

Jones was jailed around 3 a.m. local time and released later in the morning. Cincinnati media outlets reported documents filed in court accuse Jones of being disorderly and shouting profanities in a downtown bar and trying to pull away as officers arrested him.

Jones denied the allegations in an interview with a local television station after leaving jail. He said he hadn’t been drinking.

Jones repeatedly has had troubles away from football, including at least six other arrests and a dozen instances that involved police intervention.
