According to the Baptist Press, new regulations that go into effect in june will cause nurseries in churches to replace thier cribs. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has now outlawed the drop-side cribs and are requiring hardware and supports that are stronger than the exsisting design to be implemented. Drop-side cribs have been the cause of over 32 infant deaths and another 14 suspected deaths since 2000. This can be very dangerous for churches due to the possible death risk and liabilty of lawsuits against churches, if cribs are not replace.
