Today’s unseasonably warm temperatures also come with wind and a chance of rain.
Winds during the afternoon could gust as high as 40 to 45 mph, making it for another bad hair day.
A Wind Advisory is in effect for much of the area until this evening.
Power crews are watching out for downed power lines. The concern is the high wind could take down trees and power lines with it.
ABC11 Meteorologist Don Schwenneker says the wind comes ahead of a cold front that will approach the area in the evening.
“Clouds will be on the increase during the day with much needed showers moving in mainly late in the day into tonight as the front crosses the area,” he said.
There is a chance for some very windy thunderstorms, with a slight risk for severe storms.
“Another concern is wildfires and with lightening and these thunderstorms we are expecting, we could see lightning spark wildfires,” Elliot said.
Those wildfires could spark and spread quickly as severe drought conditions affect more than 27 counties in the state.
Meanwhile behind the front, cooler air will be filtering in on Tuesday with highs in the 50s.
Schwenneker says the rest of the week looks dry as another front passes through Wednesday night reinforcing the cool air on Thursday and Friday.
