The new student assignment plan being developed for Wake County will be released in February.
The decision to delay the release, originally scheduled for this month, was made after considering the schedule of the Wake County School Board for the month of January.
Members of the board are holding a series of public meetings this month to finalize assignments for next year.
The Board of Education is also holding meetings in early February to work on a shared vision for the assignment policy beginning in the 2012-2013 school year.
