Attorneys in the Eve Carson case are requesting details about tipsters’ calls from the crime hotline. Today an Orange county judge for the case delayed ruling on the request. Defense attorneys argue that they should see all the information surrounding the case, not just what authorities consider relevant. However, DA Woodall argued that broader access would include the identities of the callers to Crime Stoppers who are promised anonymity. Woodall is concerned this would reduce the amount of callers who would call in with tips on future crimes.
