Cumberland County Commissioner Tonzie Collins is accused of using the N-word in reference to the town’s police chief. Sworn documents have been obtained from two Animal Control Officers stating that Collins referred to the African American Police Chief Hassell as a N-word. The two have passed the lie detector test. Collins denies using the N-word and is offering to take the lie detector test as well. No stranger to controversy, last year Collins received a vote of no confidence from his fellow commissioners.
