The single, titled “Forever Love,” was written by Bishop Hines himself and released in celebration of their 46th wedding anniversary. But the story behind it goes much deeper. During the interview, Erica Campbell revealed her admiration for the song and the video, saying, “Oh my God, I love it so, so much. I remember seeing the clip of the video and I was like, we have to talk to him about this song.”
Bishop Hines explained that “Forever Love” wasn’t originally written with the intention of becoming a public love song. It was a personal expression of his love and devotion to his wife, Pam.
“I wasn’t considering it a love song,” Hines shared. “I was writing a song about my wife, and it just happened to be love. I’ve been writing songs since I was a child… and I was thinking about Pam, our life together, what the Bible says about marriage.”
He actually wrote the song six years prior but kept it tucked away. It wasn’t until their 45th wedding anniversary—when the couple renewed their vows in the presence of 43 other couples—that he finally surprised her with it. “She walked down the aisle to it,” he said. “She didn’t believe I wrote it, but I told her, ‘Yes, the famous person is me!’”
The following year, Bishop Hines released “Forever Love” as an official single. He envisions it as a song husbands can sing—or even just recite—to their wives. “If he can’t sing,” he joked, “then he can quote the lyrics. Life will be better after. I promise you.”
Erica chimed in playfully, saying she planned to send the song to her husband, Warren Campbell, to sing to her.

When asked how he and his wife have maintained such a strong and lasting marriage, Bishop Hines pointed to two key factors: spiritual alignment and intentional communication. “We learned the secret according to God’s word,” he said. “And we communicate until we get to an agreeable place, then live from that place. We work on getting better and we serve each other.”
He continued with a heartfelt truth: “I’m the only man she has, so I want to make sure she never needs another man in her life. We make sure we facilitate each other.”

Addressing critics who may feel that a bishop shouldn’t be singing love songs, Bishop Hines didn’t hold back. “Maybe they’re not in love,” he said with a laugh. “I’m singing according to the word of God. I’m singing to my wife. I call it a gospel love. I really believe it’s an area that should be explored by artists—songs for married couples walking according to God’s word.”
In closing, Erica encouraged listeners to support the new single: “Be sure to download and stream it today, and sing it to your loved one. How about that?”
