The government shutdown is impacting some house hunters trying to settle on buying a new home.

Applications for certain home loans are being delayed as some government services remain closed. Since Tuesday, Realtor Linda Trevor has been fielding a lot of questions from buyers and sellers about the government shutdown. The U.S. Department of Agriculture is closed, meaning those government loans can’t be processed and lenders are steering people elsewhere. Lenders say they continue to work with clients seeking government loans, but the longer the impasse lasts, the more complicated it could get.
