A state agent in Hoke County took away and replaced a kids packed lunch saying the one her mother packed was not nutritious.
The state employee who was checking packed lunches for nutrition replaced a students homemade packed lunch with the school cafeteria’s chicken nuggets.
The agent told the student that her lunch was not nutritious and did not meet U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines. The lunch was replaced and the employee sent the bill for the cost of the lunch home.
The packed lunch consisted of a turkey and cheese sandwich, banana, potato chips and apple juice.
