Meet Our April 2025 Pastor of The Month!

Every month, Melissa Wade and The Light 103.9 honor a local faith leader for their work on the pulpit and in their community with the Pastor of The Month presentation, sponsored by Trice Funeral Home, LLC! For April, we’re honoring Rev. Willis Farrington at Prince Chapel CME Church in New Hill, North Carolina.

Rev. Willis J. Farrington serves as the dedicated pastor of Prince Chapel CME Church in New Hill, North Carolina. A Chapel Hill native, Rev. Farrington is the youngest of nine children born to Lonnie and Callie Farrington. His life is rooted in faith, family, and a strong commitment to service. Married to Min. Sharon Farrington since 1986, they share two daughters, Crystal and Courtney, and cherish their two granddaughters, Daj’shia and Aniya.
Rev. Farrington’s educational path began in 1974 at Quinnipiac University, followed by studies at Spartanburg Methodist College and North Carolina Central University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a Psychology minor. His theological training includes ordination through World Christianship Ministries and a Certificate in Clinical Pastoral Education awarded during the CME Unity Summit in Atlanta.
His pastoral career spans over a decade, marked by his ordination milestones and appointments, including his service as Pastor of Saint Paul CME Church in Virginia before his current role. His pastoral care is enriched by his chaplaincy at UNC Hospital Trauma Center, where he provided compassionate support to patients and families in crisis.
Beyond the pulpit, Rev. Farrington has made a significant community impact. He led the Omega Champs Mentoring Program in Raleigh, guided the Marion Cheek Jackson Center’s efforts in preserving Black history, and remains an active participant in the NAACP and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
Rev. Farrington’s mission blends spiritual leadership with unwavering community service, inspiring those he serves to live with faith and purpose.
