NC health officials reported 11 deaths this week due to the flu.  This is the highest weekly report of the season.

Officals say, so far 44 people statewide have died of the flu since October, with adults ages 25 to 49 being the most affected, accounting for 19 deaths in North Carolina.   Those ages 50 to 64, account for  14 deaths and 9 people 65 or older have died of the flu.  Also one infant and one child between ages 5 and 17.
