Travis Mitchell is the President of the Wake Communities In School and talks about some of the great programs that The Smart Academy offers to help prepare and inspire our youth grades 3rd through 8th to thirst for knowledge and teach them learning skills that will help them be successful in the class room as well be confident to pursue any career that they choose to do.
Travis talked about the programs The Smart Academy offers and how it is designed to be affordable so parents can take advantage of the opportunity to get the help they need to make sure their children are on rack academically. The SmartAcademy will have a free Smart Day event this Saturday at the DukeEnergyLearningCenter at ChavisHeights in Raleigh, NC. SMART Weekend School
The foundation of CIS Wake’s SMART Academy is the SMART Weekend School, a rigorous program designed to strengthen students in grades 3 through 8 in math and reading. Students meet on Saturdays or Sundays for three hours each session for intensive instruction. Parents will choose one day per weekend for their student(s). Led by certified teachers, scientists and researchers, instruction emphasizes:
- Project-Based Learning
- Interactive Instruction
- Small Group Instruction
