Central North Carolina is bracing for another round of extreme heat as the fourth heat wave of the year sets in. Starting Friday, July 25, and lasting through at least the middle of next week, high temperatures in the upper 90s to near 100°, combined with intense humidity, will push heat index values to 105–109° or higher.

This stretch of dangerous heat could pose risks, especially to those sensitive to high temperatures. Heat Advisories are likely, and residents are urged to take precautions, stay hydrated, and avoid prolonged time outdoors during peak heat hours.

With humidity factored in, some areas could feel as hot as 109° or more.
