According to a new study by the American Bible Society, reading the Bible may have a stronger positive effect on well-being than exercise, meditation, or even socializing. The report, titled State of the Bible USA 2025, found that regular engagement with Scripture is tied to lower levels of stress, anxiety, and loneliness, along with greater feelings of hope.

Based on responses from 2,656 American adults, the study suggests that connecting with God through Bible reading and worship can significantly boost mental and emotional health. It also found that consistent church attendance contributes to overall well-being.
