The Fayetteville man accused of killing his girlfriend and kidnapping their daughter surrendered to Police in Connecticut Thursday. According to police the young man confessed to the murder.

Authorities reported that 23 year old Jose Alexander Zelaya drove to a Wal-Mart and asked store employees where he could find the nearest police station.

It was reported that Zelaya told West Haven, Connecticut police that he was afraid officers would kill him because he had left his daughter at what he thought was a truck stop and had killed someone in North Carolina.

According to reports he was being held in Milford Connecticut on a $500,000 bond on a first-degree murder charge. According to police he has refused extradition to North Carolina and will appear in court again on Jan. 10.
