A discussion over whether to end busing in favor of neighborhood schools in Wake County quickly turned into a debate about race last night at a Raleigh YWCA.

Conversations tonight may means good news to some Wake County school parents. 

Earlier today Judge Ripley Rand ruled the release of two convicted murderers who were sentenced in the 1970’s under an old law that defined life sentence as 80 years with the option of recieving good behavior credits.

Law enforcement officers cited 11 motorists for driving while impaired at a checkpoint at Falls of Neuse and Durant Road in Raleigh Saturday night.

The state Highway Patrol said at least 15 people have been killed over the last week on North Carolina roads.
