The Friday evening ride home for Central Carolina travelers for the holiday weekend was a bumpy one. The Triangle was hit by strong winds, tornado watch and warnings with softball sized hail in some areas of the Triangle. There were reports of cars being damaged by the huge hail and trees knocked down from the strong winds. The storm also brought a large amount of rain causing flood warnings in the area.
