A group of protesters in Durham toppled a Confederate soldier monument Monday evening.  The group says the monument is a symbol of oppression and racism.

Several men used a ladder to climb the statue and wrapped a strap around the neck of the statue to pull it down, leaving only the bottom of the monument.
