On Thursday for the first time this campaign season, democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and first lady Michelle Obama hit the same stage in North Carolina as early in-person voting begins its second full week in the state.  The two women headlined the early-vote rally at the Joel Coliseum in Winston-Salem.

Last Sunday, Clinton made an initial visit to the battleground state with rallies on the campuses of St. Augustine’s College in Raleigh and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  In 2008, as rivals it was North Carolina where Clinton and President Barack Obama held their first joint campaign event last summer.

On Wednesday, republican nominee Donald Trump held events in Charlotte and Kinston.
