Here’s More….

TROSA is taking its famous mega yard sale and moving it indoors! Vice President of Business Operations Michael Keene said, “After years of battling the weather, we decided to take advantage of our 115,000 square foot store and try to bring all of these bargains indoors.” In addition to the store’s regular selection of clothing, furniture, electronics, and housewares, the yard sale will bring in mattresses and box springs, washers and dryers, refrigerators, stoves, a large quantity of high-end solid wood office furniture, top-grade lateral and upright filing cabinets, and much more.

Thrift Store manager Michael Lally says that it will be difficult to squeeze all of these extra items into the store, but it will be worth it: “Our regular customers may be surprised to see the changes, but I think they’ll be excited too. We don’t usually carry large appliances, so this will be their chance to grab a bargain on a refrigerator or stove. The aisles may be smaller and the store will be more crowded than usual, but that’s why we’re extending our hours.”

The store will be open 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. in order to accommodate the crowds, and additional delivery trucks will be added for customers who choose to have their items delivered. There will also be discounts on clothing and selected furniture items. But the sale isn’t just about buying things, a TROSA Moving trailer will be onsite to accept donations.

Director of Business Operations Jeff Stern says “Donations are the lifeblood of any Thrift Store, but they are doubly important to TROSA, because we sort through all items in order to see what we can use within the program first – those things that can’t be used for the residents are then sold. So in addition to reducing clutter at home and diverting used items from going to landfills, our customers and donors are also helping the men and women of TROSA get the chance to rebuild their lives. We hope everyone will check this sale out – beat the heat, don’t get wet, the indoor yard sale has our best deals yet!”
