Duke Energy reported a power outage which is impacting over 1,000 customers in Dunn for the second-consecutive day.  The press release from Duke Energy says a substation that was shut down Saturday night continued to cause outages across the city on Sunday.

According to WRAL News a spokesperson with Duke Energy claims that about 4,500 customers were without power Saturday evening around 7 p.m. as crews worked to repair a substation.  At this time it’s unclear if the heat is directly related to the issues.

On Sunday afternoon Duke Energy officials said the work wold be completed within two hours. However power wasn’t restored in Dunn until around 10:30 p.m. Sunday night.
